Internships Opportunities

Aquatic Biology and Fisheries

Internships provide students with a real-life experience in their chosen field and are strongly suggested for all students during undergraduate years - typically summertime. For Aquatic Biology and Fisheries students, these opportunities have included:
  • Working for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources fisheries biologist or hatchery manager
  • Building fish ladders in Alaska through the Student Conservation Association (SCA)
  • Evaluating White River biota for the Muncie Bureau of Water Quality
  • Conducting animal husbandry for the marine exhibit at the Indianapolis Zoo
  • Collecting fish in Lake Michigan and the Wabash River as part of BSU ongoing faculty research
  • Sampling the Ohio River biota for ORSANCO
